BIOA Opera Theater is an exciting performance program available to highly motivated and talented singers on the verge of their professional careers. It offers in-depth preparation of an operatic role with support from role preparation coaches, a stage director, and a conductor. The program culminates with singers performing their role in a fully staged, professional production with costumes and orchestra in collaboration with State Opera Burgas.
At the end of the program, each participant will receive a certificate, professional photos, and video recordings of the performances.

Note: All roles (arias, ensembles, and recitatives) must be fully learned and memorized prior to arrival at the program.

In Burgas, the singers will perform a fully staged production of Mozart’s masterpiece, Don Giovanni (all roles are double cast). On the night a singer isn’t performing his/her role in the opera, he/she must sing in the chorus.
At the end of the program, each participant will receive a certificate, professional photos, and video recordings of the performances.
The performance will serve as agent/house auditions for the singers on both nights.

All roles will be cast based on the application which includes a video submission and a resume (evidence of prior performing experience).

Note: All singers cast in a role will sing a preparedness audition (music, rhythm, and memorization) on the first day to green light his/her performance. If a singer fails, they will be offered to sing in the chorus.

Note: Every singer cast into a role must sing in the chorus on the night they do not perform.

Hotel Bulgaria (5-star) is situated in central Burgas and only a 10 minute walk from the beach. It offers modern, well-equipped, hotel rooms and apartments as well as an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, restaurant, and bar. Breakfast is included.
